According to some reports, Yamaha is now working on a new sports heritage bike, the new Yamaha XSR 300. Yamaha XSR 300 is under the initial development stage according to some sources from the automotive industry. This is now the 2nd small capacity sports heritage motorcycle that Yamaha is currently working on reportedly.

There are other speculations of the XSR 250 & XSR 155 to be launched soon. XSR 250 will be targeted for Europe or countries where MT 25 is already sold. The XSR 300 will be launched in India after the launch of Yamaha XSR 155. Yamaha has already confirmed the launch of XSR 155 in India soon. Specifications Of XSR 300

Quick Overview

Design: XSR 300 will be based on its other sibling from the sports heritage lineup. It will borrow its design cues from the bigger XSR 700 and Yamaha XSR 900. It will have retro heritage design like its elder siblings. All the bikes in this lineup have a retro-looking round headlamp and a premium finish single-seat, and the same is expected for XSR 300.

The signature tiny round LED taillamps will retain. If possible it may also be equipped with dual-purpose tires like the XSR 155. Overall, each bike from the Yamaha XSR family looks great and appealing and XSR 300 will follow the same.

Engine & Performance: XSR 300 will share its powertrain with its sibling YZF R3 and MT03. It will be equipped with a 321cc parallel-twin, Fuel-injected, Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 8-valves, DOHC Engine. It will have an assist & slipper clutch mechanism.

The power and torque output will remain the same. The expected maximum power produced by the engine would be 42 PS and the peak torque is expected to be around 29.8 nm. However, the power delivery could be tweaked accordingly.

Suspension & Brakes: It will have a telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. XSR 300 will have a 298mm hydraulic disc at the front wheel and a 220mm hydraulic floating caliper disc at the rear, similar to its other siblings. The dual-channel ABS will ensure safe braking under harsh and panic braking situations.

The XSR 300 will weigh around 160KG* and will have a ground clearance of 170MM. The saddle height is expected to be at 810MM as the other bikes in the lineup have the same. The fuel tank on all the XSR models has an almost similar volume, so on XSR 300, it could be in the range of 10.5 to 11 liters.

The Headlamp and taillamps units are full-LED setup as the other bikes. It will have a fully digital instrument cluster in round shape.
